My Friends call me... LIMA
LiMaria Zakis
Born and raised in Montreal, LiMaria was creative from a young age.
Her artistic side faded however during her studies of Biology & Health Sciences. Later in life, she re-introduced herself to painting. Her interest in oil painting did not last long because of the wait time to dry and mix colors on canvas. The world of acrylic was more enticing.

It did not take LiMaria long to realize that the SCRAPER was her best friend… With her most comfortable tool at hand, painting, mixing, and color came naturally.

None of LiMaria’s works are pre-sketched; all paintings are done by feel. Abstract painting allows her to be freer, more expressive and lets her imagination do all the work.

COLLAGE IS ALWAYS A NICE FINISHING TOUCH …
LiMaria’s collage pieces include the mixing pads from which she produces her paintings. Inside her mixing book, layer after layer of colors used over time mix together and form new and unique combinations.
