Misty Pop was created to calm any storm and create a nice relaxing atmosphere. The icy, snowy white is tamed by the warm peaches with some subtle pops of green and blue.

Misty Pop is also versatile enough to fit in many spaces. It sits in my kitchen where I spend so much of my pass time. It is my recovery zone. What is yours?

The Autumn Tree

The Autumn Tree is close to my heart and home town. Fall is one of our common seasons in Canada and one of the most attractive, colorful and picturesque. Fall is by far my favorite season. It is also the season of death, where nature takes a break to rebalance and prepare for hibernation.

The Autumn Tree tells us a story. The reddish, orange abstract tree symbolizes the most common leaf color we have that comes tumbling down before the start of winter and depicts the fragile cyclical state of nature.

The color splashes in the middle are meant to be the bright shadows of two lovers finally coming together and the start of their new young love flourishing in these lands.

Is the Lion your favorite animal?

Thinking in Color... My Leo...miaou miaou is a portrait of my father. He was strong, dominant and strategic. When my father passed, my life took a turn. Many things changed and I wanted to honor his memory. Anyone who has lost a parent can probably tell you the same. Nothing is ever the same.

Ironically enough, my father's zodiac sign was Leo and this beautiful animal is one of my favorites too. If only lions weren't man eaters, I would have one at home....

Thinking in Color... My Leo...miaou miaou is an abstract lion.  The middle which is more of a brown is the lion's face. The rest of the colors going around it are forming his big thick colorful mane full of emotions. The lion is the ultimate king of the jungle and symbolizes power.

Mrs. Chuckles was made to be an entertainer and a socialite. She is spirited and energetic. In her stance, she just wants to laugh out loud and is just holding back a little! I made her with that expression and froze her in time to keep us smiling. She is open and fearless and wants us to have a good time.

At any moment now, she will burst out in laughter.

Stairway to Heaven

Do you have a loved one who passed?

Stairway to Heaven was made when my father passed. I was praying that he would end up in Heaven. Pretty cliché, but true. I kept signing the Eric Clapton's song "Tears In Heaven" in my head for days.

I made this painting in memory of him, with colors that soothed me and reminded me of him and his Greek heritage as well: The ocean and his flag.

And then I added the red, golden staircase that stands out that would welcome him home in his prestigious afterlife. The staircase also symbolized his victory. Success to have made it to the ultimate destination.

When you look at Bouncing Balls in the City, you have this abstract blue spirited skyline and some yellow and white trimmed balls out of nowhere completely out of place just having fun, spreading happiness and positivity, bouncing around, like they don't care, even if they don't belong there.

The Colorful Peacock

Are you a bird lover?

When making The Colorful Peacock, I actually asked myself, why am I attracted to peacocks? I know I like birds and owned a beautiful little budgie for 13 years. But why a peacock? Is it because it has beautiful colors and looks magical? I remember fanning it out and thinking of the American Flag??!!, which is weird and that is one reason why there is so much red, white and blue in it's feathers..

So after I made it I googled it to see what my subconscious has done.

It so happens that Florida has a growing population of peacocks and I have always wanted to go there. This may be a sign that it's time to visit.

It also happens that the peacock holds great symbolism: It is a symbol of rebirth, beauty, masculine power, sisterhood protection, vision, renewal, good luck and so much more!!!

The color choices make it even more appealing as they denote imagination, passion, happiness, softness and freshness.

Butterfly Park was one of my first abstract acrylic paintings and one of my favorites with it's unconditional love and nurturing pink vibes.

The serene feel I get from looking at this one doesn't compare and is timeless.

When we were young, my cousins, my brother and I used to chase butterflies in the ally close to home and some were lucky enough to catch some. Of course we were fascinated and examined their beautiful colors before we sent them free again.

Tribal Lord

Are you fascinated by different nations?

I had gone on vacation one year and was attracted to some nice tribal masks that hung on the wall and got inspired to create an abstract minimalist Tribal Lord with very few colors. I wanted to keep him simple, as few colors were used to paint the original masks. I also went with untraditional colors that contradicted skin and face colors to make him bold to prove my point.

When you think Tribes, usually that goes hand in hand with portraying wisdom and spirituality. History has shown us that many tribes/nations have had it hard to stay true to themselves and had to fight to keep their values and beliefs alive. They have shown qualities like courage and sacrifice. They are an inspiration and a great symbol of strength.

The bulls eye is the black dot in the middle which depicts power. The different slots going round and round are hard to see to let us know that nothing is easy. The Never Ending Maze has the most layers and textures built in than any other of my art pieces thus far. They are meant to depict complexity.

The Never Ending Maze is full of scuffs and some dead ends along the way. 

The Never Ending Maze is the human brain and the thinking process.

The gray (intellect) tunnel on the left is where you enter in thought and the signature is strategically placed on the way out, where the thought process ends and solutions are found.

The colors are meant to be bright and emanate alertness and  positivity for anyone's road. They keep good thoughts going and give you hope that you will find your way no matter what!

Madame Chapeau is another one of my entertainer female figures that I came up with. She is supposed to be a rare native girl with long, dark, curly hair and a statement piece hat full of feathers that symbolize her tribe.

I associate Indians to wise and spiritual people.

Her green feathers are supposed to symbolize nature, peace and her red are supposed to represent passion, love and sacrifice.

The orange in her hat symbolizes joy, warmth and enthusiasm and the blue is depth, expertise and stability.

Ice and Heat... Polar Opposites!  is a symbol of hope that love can melt any frozen heart or on the reverse, healing takes time.

The Yellow is showing the melting process and progress as it symbolizes the ultimate happiness, warmth and sunshine. Something good is on the horizon.

It still, however, has a long way to go as there is less green in the painting which symbolizes life and renewal, compared to the icy cold blue heart and the fiery red flame of love hard at work.

Lost... the Mystery Girl

Do you feel insecure sometimes?

Lost... the Mystery Girl is one of my first lady characters and I wanted to make a link between a woman uncertain of herself and the hope that she will find herself one day.

Her stance, her shoulders and the fact that she is placed in front of a brick wall makes it look like maybe she hit a dead end. 

The painting then takes a positive twist and shows hope in the pop of colors that were chosen: The green (hope) and

the orange (success).

Her bright poppy eyes and faint green contour show a possibility, beginning of renewal and re-birth while her orange top which takes a hold of our gaze symbolizes creativity, a warm heart full of enthusiasm and her joy to come.

Picasso will always inspire artists like myself. He was a master and my ultimate favorite.

Mr. Strange is all about not judging a book by it's cover. We've all made this common mistake at some point.

The Arian

The Arian shows a beautiful blond Arian that is signing to a crowd and is fascinating to her fans.

There are a few of hidden messages in this piece.

The main one is that there are many sides to us women. The brown hair color shows some down to earth qualities, while the black shows power + authority and the blond shows optimism + happiness.

The other two are : the aesthetic side and our inner beauty.

The aesthetic side loves mascara, make-up and to find any way to accentuate our features to make us more attractive like the Arian. As most women wear makeup more than keep a natural look, the Arian is larger to prove her point. We even sometimes look at other women and can sometimes be in awe like the Arian's fans because we consider them beautiful or with particular looks we want for ourselves. As women we feed off each other.

There is also a bright inner beauty that shines through in each and every one of us like sunshine and is shown through the yellow blond Arian hair along with her enormous size to, again, catch our eye. Our inside is just as important.

Her built arms show great strength, not because she may be a gym buff as well, but because mothers these days are not exactly like they were in the old days. Women need to be stronger and wear more hats than ever these days.  On top of their daily tasks, they also go to work and have careers, not like our grand and great grand mothers. Society has changed.

The colors around the mother, are her aura. Powerful colors like, green, yellow green, blue, rust orange. Her yellow and mustard outline symbolize complete happiness.

The Puppet

Are you a player or the one that got played?

The Puppet is the societal game. You can either be the one holding the strings or the puppet itself. The strings on the right are coated with some lilac. Even though it can be a sign of fearlessness and innocence, it can go the other way and show fragility and inexperience. The left strings are in baby blue and give you some better chances as they show faith, truth, confidence and bliss.

The Puppet's almost symmetrical clothes are the main focal point in blue and green to depict the constant societal battles between people. Green shows money as a dominant preoccupation in people's thoughts. Money can bring peace and security but it can also create envy and materialism. Blue is a symbol for calm , stability and freedom but it can also bring a feeling of coldness and depression.
